Mateo’s Magic Bus takes listeners on a journey around the world most weeks, exploring the roots of jazz and blues alongside music from today and the past decades that has been influenced by these incredible art forms.
This week's show celebrates when jazz became free in the late 50s and early 60s, celebrating the legacy of Ornette Coleman, Charlie Haden, Don Cherry and others who wrote the the genesis of Free Jazz. We also look forward to the kickoff of the KFFR Fall Membership Drive & tee up some great new music from the National & Bon Iver, Tedeschi Trucks and then the bus drives to South London to check out a track from Kokoroko's new album.
