On the Road: Mr. Bojangles in Berlin, Blues from Dublin

Mateo's Magic Bus was driving through Ireland and Germany these past weeks and as always, we're out and about finding jazz and blues wherever we go! Some highlights include an amazing scene in East Berlin, where urban renewal (and decay), artists the community all collide in an area dubbed R.A.W. (website). What an amazing scene and local musician Jem Bosatta (site) was laying down a sublime version of Mr. Bojangles, which we've played (Sammy Davis Jr. version) a few times on The Bus.

The Bus then travelled to Dublin where we happened by the oldest working pub in Dublin, the Brazen Head, which dates back to 1198 - the mantle for oldest goes to Sean's Bar from 900AD! Low and behold the house band is nothing but the blues. Sipping Guinness (btw they taste like milkshakes in Dublin), listening to the blues in one of Ireland's oldest haunts, with a great long time friend = priceless.

Buckle up and enjoy some of the out takes from these two shows (video below), mixed in with some choice pix and scenery from beautiful Berlin and Dublin.
